Bates Meyer, Inc. is handling the music clearance and licensing for an upcoming documentary from award-winning civil rights director Sam Pollard.  “MLK/FBI” details the scope of the FBI’s surveillance and harassment of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Based on newly discovered declassified files, the documentary explores the U.S. government’s history of targeting black activists, and provides a potent check on longstanding institutions, revealing how the aim of protecting democracy can devolve into the suppression of it.
