Diane “Deedles” Schuur recently signed on with Catherine Mayer of Just Jazz International for European booking. Mayer represents a cross section of respected artists including Ramsey Lewis, Ivan Lins, Manhattan Transfer and Patti Austin. Deedles will be in Italy February 22-26 for big band concerts with conductor Gerardo Di Lella at Teatro ABC in Catania, Teatro Golden in Palermo and Teatro Olimpico in Rome.

Pianist Kenny Wayne is off to perform on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise January 22-29, departing Fort Lauderdale for the Dominican Republic, the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Maarten. Wayne’s latest release “Jumpin’ and Boppin’” on Canada’s respected label Stony Plain Records made the best top 10 Blues records of 2016 on Classicalite, the classical source for performing, visual and literary arts.

The Open Sky Music Foundation, Inc. is proud to be appointed administrator for the Steve Schour Memorial Fund providing educational grants to students attending Big Bear High School. Schour was a beloved educator in the Bear Valley Unified School District for close to forty years, twenty of which he spent as Principal of Chautauqua High School. He sought to extend education to everyone, regardless of students’ obstacles. The Steve Schour Memorial Fund honors this purpose and aims to keep his memory and mission alive.
