The 1947 Marl Young composition “My Jockey Knows How To Ride” from Young’s Sunbeam Records has been licensed by Bates Meyer for use in the documentary “Mama Gloria.”  The film debuts at the Chicago International Film Festival (Oct. 14-25) in the Black Perspectives category, founded  in collaboration with Spike Lee to highlight the excellence of African American cinema. “Mama Gloria” features community leader and transgender icon Gloria Allen who emerged from Chicago’s South Side drag culture, trailblazing a path for transgender youth
