The Lonnie Johnson composition and recording “Broken Levee Blues” has been licensed for the upcoming documentary about Hurricane Katrina, scheduled for the National Geographic Channel on the 20th anniversary of America’s worst natural disaster. KATRINA (working title) demonstrates how the floodwaters tore through not only the Gulf States but also the fabric of our common humanity. The film raises relevant questions about race in America, many of which remain unanswered two decades later.
