Bates Meyer is licensing music for a documentary about experimental filmmaker Benita Raphan. Three-time Emmy Award winner Alan Berliner is directing and producing.  All of his films are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.   Guggenheim fellow Raphan made acclaimed short films, including studies of Emily Dickinson, Helen Keller and Buckminster Fuller, examining the relationship between mental health, innovation, and creativity.  Entitled simply “BENITA,” the project is the depiction of a filmmaker by a filmmaker that is also a film about filmmaking — and a story about storytelling.
